This program is designed for middle and high school girls to explore the construction trades, architecture, engineering, and construction manufacturing through hands on experiences and field trips.
Wednesday morning’s field trip was to visit the construction site of Barry Isett & Associates new headquarters that was designed by the MKSD team. Silvia and Ali, along with our summer interns, Liz and Kylee, were on hand to discuss the design process for the building and field any questions the campers had.
It is always so inspiring to mentor young people, especially girls, and help them understand that they can be successful in the architectural world and the construction industry, an industry that is traditionally male-dominated.
