Allentown, PA—MKSD architects’ Project Designer Andrew Mitchell, Associate AIA has passed his Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) to become a registered architect (RA) in Pennsylvania. The ARE® is a testing procedure comprised of six different examinations related to the various architectural disciplines. It assesses candidates for their knowledge, skills, and ability to provide the various services required in the practice of architecture and has been adopted for use by all 54 U.S. and Canadian member boards.
Andrew has been part of the MKSD team since 2019 as an Architectural Project Designer. Always on the lookout for new information, Andrew approaches every topic, every project with curiosity. He enjoys the process of developing design concepts and ideas that can become part of the built environment. Andrew helps produce construction documents, coordinates with the architects and contributes to the project from kickoff to successful design. He has also been an active member of the American Institute of Architects Eastern Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Chapters and in 2021 Andrew was chosen as a recipient of the 2021 Paula Maynes ARE Grant.
Andrew has worked on many local design projects including designs for Easton Area Joint Sewer Authority, Northampton Community College Hampton Winds, Mill Creek Business Park, Da Vinci Science Center and many warehouse fitouts. He is a graduate of Northampton Community College and Marywood University where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree.
Congratulations Andrew…a brand new architect and a brand new dad!
