North Whitehall Township Municipal Building Renovation

MKSD architects partnered with North Whitehall Township to transform their existing municipal building into a modern, accessible center for local government and community life. The challenge was to work within existing site footprint while preparing for the township’s future growth.
MKSD revitalized 12,350 sq. ft of existing space and added a 5,350 sq. ft. expansion to create a more efficient, “one-stop shop” for all township services.

By adding a new two-story addition and reconfiguring the interior, the design introduces a vibrant new lobby with a welcoming reception area and a spacious multi-purpose meeting room with state of the art audio visual capabilities.

These improvements ensure that public meetings and community events are more comfortable and accessible to everyone.

By reconfiguring the original layout and capturing previously unused second-floor space, MKSD also increased the number of staff offices while creating a new community training and recreation room. The result is a project that prioritizes the resident experience while creating a modern, high performance working environment for Township employees.
