BSI Corporate Benefits

MKSD was hired to provide an interior renovation of the existing Victory Firehouse with minor exterior improvements. MKSD designed the previous interior renovation in 2007.

The Victory Firehouse is the new home for BSI Corporate benefits. Critical spaces for BSI function included adequate team meeting spaces, large multipurpose room for company-wide functions, and individual offices on the second floor for BSI Admin.

Formally a halfcourt basketball gym, this space was refurbished to a new multipurpose room which can host company-wide meetings and events. BSI elected to keep some of the existing equipment to pay homage to the original and former use.

Rather than covering up the existing building the decision was made to expose existing structure and existing brick walls in select locations to highlight the original construction.
Interior finishes were carefully selected to bring the building into the modern era while complimenting each space’s use and incorporating BSI’s company colors.

The design team took advantage of the large existing windows to bring in natural light to the interior spaces. The exterior of the building was painted to remove the existing red and yellow colors. A modern grey and black window frames and trim refresh the exterior creating a statement for the building on the street corner where the building is situated.

Existing glass block windows were replaced with new aluminum windows that were designed to compliment the original building
