Partner Spotlight: Jill Hewes

It’s been a while since we’ve done a Partner Spotlight, so we thought it was about time we featured the insurmountable Jill Hewes. Always optimistic, Jill brightens the office with her smile and finds the humor in everyday situations. Most of you know her professionally, so we hope you enjoy taking a few minutes to get to know a little bit about her personally. Thank you Jill for taking the time to answer a few of our questions.

Where did you go to college and what was your favorite class?

I went to Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University). My favorite class was Design / Studio.    I loved coming up with creative ideas and the pride of the final design solution.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?

I had three careers I was interested in.  Architecture, accounting, and being a surgeon (this one might have been a stretch).  However, I think I got lucky, and I am doing them all in some capacity.  I am very proud to be an architect, I love the operation side of running a business, and we do healthcare projects!

What are some of your favorite hobbies?

My husband, Nick, will say I don’t have many hobbies. With 3 active kids and working full time, I don’t give myself a lot of “me time” right now.  But I do like golfing, cooking (not baking!), and traveling.    But I would like to start a new hobby, feel free to send me some ideas!

What is the last tv show you binge watched?

I just finished binge-watching Gilmore Girls.  I enjoy a light-hearted show set in a small town with good people.   And now I am onto the reunion limited series!  I love a reunion, plus they always start with a great montage.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

I have been given great advice over the years from my parents, family and friends, business partners, but most recently, the best advice I received was to “don’t wait – do it now, and when you do be fully present in the moment”.  Eighteen months ago, I was diagnosed with cancer.   Thankfully, I am in remission, but going through that experience changes you forever!

What keeps you motivated and/or inspired?

I have always been self-motivated.  It is important to me to be compassionate, accountable, and always do my best!   Over the years, my family has kept me motivated.  For my twin boys and daughter, I want them to see they can do anything with hard work and passion!

What are three things you can’t live without in your workspace?

Music, my water bottle, and the people I work with.

Where is your favorite place to eat/visit/hang out in the Lehigh Valley?

I love a good martini from Grille 3501!
