MKSD Office -1209 Hausman Road

Through an integrated project delivery process, MKSD architects and a local construction management firm partnered to redevelop a former office building in South Whitehall Township into offices for both companies. Originally a nondescript, one-story edifice, the building now has a dramatic new entrance with a butterfly roof form. The new roof structure extends beyond the entrance lobby to add height over the shared conference room. Daylighting panels were installed beneath the new roof to introduce natural light into the conference room.

MKSD leases space in the 13,123 sf building in Allentown and renovated it into two separate and autonomous offices—one for itself and one for a local construction management firm.

The new 6,562 sf MKSD office features new:

• Conference room with a raised roof area and a service kitchen
• Common space amenities
• Mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, and plumbing systems
• Open studio workspace
• Lounge area
• Storage
• Renovations included new windows, a new entrance, and daylighting systems. The project was performed as a design/build project with Boyle Construction.
