St. Luke’s University Health Network Sacred Heart Patient Floors Renovations

Renovating the hospital’s patient tower, built in 1974, has completely transformed patient care at Sacred Heart Hospital. The design achieves current building codes, DOH requirements and integrates Planetree principles. Planetree is a model of care which includes the patient’s family in recovery.

The renovations provided the following:
• Conversion of multi-patient rooms into singles, with modern technology integrated head and foot walls and private baths
• Unit welcome/gather area
• A family care and meeting room
• Enlarged, open concept nurse station with high visibility to visitors and patient rooms
• Semi-private physician charting area
• Corridor integrated nurse charting alcoves
• Medicine dispensing room
• New HVAC units, electrical, data, nurse call, plumbing systems and generator
• Nature inspired, hospitality style finishes and art
