Partners Speak at 2009 School Construction Conference

MKSD Partners Kimberly LaBrake, AIA, and Mark Thompson, AIA, will be speakers at the 2009 Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) School Design & Construction Conference, taking place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia on May 7-8th. Ms. LaBrake is presenting “Invite Your Community by Design to Foster Educational Ownership” with Robert Spengler, Superintendent of Catasauqua Area School District, on Thursday, May 7th, at 1:00PM. This educational session will review how School Districts and their communities can partner to integrate education into the community, build trust for an educational system, and support the community as a whole. Mr. Thompson has teamed with Susanne Meixsell, Superintendent of Northwestern Lehigh School District, to present “Team Building for Effective Communications to Ensure Total Satisfaction on School Construction Projects.” This session is also on May 7th at 3:00PM and focuses on the school construction process by overcoming language barriers, structuring communications and meetings, and ensuring the correct issues lead the design process, such as curriculum, educational program, and operations.
