NCC Hartzell Hall Ribbon Cutting
Lehigh Valley Business featured an article about the November 10th Ribbon cutting and Rededication Ceremony for the Hartzell Technology Hall at Northampton Community College’s Main Campus in Bethlehem.
With the newly renovated facility, MKSD architects continues their dedication and long-time commitment to NCC by helping to launch the refreshed technology program into the future! Over 10,000 SF of renovations includes new finishes, equipment, lighting, and furniture, helping to better reflect NCC’s continually growing and advancing technology program.
The existing welding lab features all new welding equipment and finishes. Various shades of the signature NCC “Blue” highlight equipment and air ducts, creating a more stimulating and visually dynamic environment for students.
The Student Gathering Area features recessed linear lights that run up the wall and across the ceiling, emphasizing movement and reflecting NCC’s vision of a “technology program of tomorrow”. Light pierces through metal panels that wrap the existing masonry columns, adding unique pops of light throughout the space.
The Student Lobby features a new Curriculum display with floating planes of translucent panels, highlighted with glowing light, that define each of the 8 core areas of study offered in the technology program.
The main corridors feature perforated and unperforated metal panels that clad the existing masonry walls. At every classroom alcove, blue soffits and highlighted flooring define entry points and add color and rhythm to an otherwise long stretch of hallway. Newly installed vision panels give prospective students a glimpse of the equipment and program behind the walls.
