MKSD Featured In

Lehigh Valley Business recently had a feature article about MKSD entitled, ‘MKSD, 10 Years of Blending Space and Environment.‘ The article highlights the firm’s 10 year anniversary by discussing some of our notable projects and  creative approach as well as some of the challenges that were faced along the way.

Referring to the Northampton Community College Monroe campus, the article states, “It was a difficult challenge, but not unusual for the award-winning South Whitehall Township-based firm, which completed the design of the Monroe County project last year. As architects, they are accustomed to taking abstract concepts such as these and translating them into functional, aesthetically pleasing buildings that fit into a social space and environment.”

Silvia Hoffman also discusses the challenges of being a firm comprised of half women in a male-dominated industry. She is quoted as saying, “We’re really proud of the fact that in an industry that’s very male-dominated, we have been able to achieve and maintain our success. Our staff mirrors our clients. Our staff is half women and half men, which we feel makes for a better design process. … It helps us understand more of their [clients’] needs and where they are coming from – from a variety of different experiences.”
