Jill Hewes Becomes LEED Accredited
MKSD architects is proud to announce that our Project Designer, Jill Hewes, has become a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Ms. Hewes has been accredited by the U.S. Green Building Council as having the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED Certification process. To become accredited, Ms. Hewes has demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Green Building Rating System.
Ms. Hewes joined MKSD architects in June 2004, after receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Philadelphia University. As an MKSD Project Designer, she provides innovative and functional design solutions and prepares realistic 3-D color renderings to help clients clearly understand a building’s three-dimensional nature and character to make informed decisions. Ms. Hewes also translates designs into construction documents and coordinates drawings with various engineering disciplines.
Ms. Hewes is currently part of the MKSD Design Team designing the new Monroe County Campus of Northampton Community College. Her LEED AP status will help Ms. Hewes with this project’s design, which calls for an entirely “green” campus with three LEED certified buildings totaling 200,000 square feet of space.
