ICE/ERO Interior Renovations 4th Floor Project
The County of Berks is accepting sealed bids from qualified bidders for providing all labor, materials, equipment, superintendence and appurtenances to rehabilitate the ICE building infrastructure and re-purpose all designated areas into residential, programming and office areas for the Berks County Residential Center (BCRC) in compliance with any and all applicable local and state/federal building codes and Dept. of Public Welfare (DPW) requirements including Chapter 3088 Child Residential and Day Treatment Facilities.
Bids will be accepted by the County, c/o County Controller, Berks County Services Center, 633 Court Street, 12th Floor, Reading, PA, 19601, until 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Bids to be publicly opened the same day @ 2:15PM in the Planning Library, 14th floor, Berks County Services Center, 633 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601.
Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in the amount and form specified in the Invitation to Bid (ITB) package. Those contractors wishing to bid on multiple prime contracts shall submit separate paperwork for each bid including bid form, bid bond, etc. The bid includes General Construction, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical Prime contracts.
A pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the Berks Heim Annex, CRC Conference Room, 1st Floor, 1101 Berks Road, Leesport, PA beginning promptly at 10:00 AM.
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federal Davis-Bacon salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and the employees and applicants for employment shall not be discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap.
The Contract is subject to the requirements for affirmative action to ensure equal employment opportunity (Executive Order 11246).
Bidders may obtain the ITB package from the Architect’s website, www.mksdarchitects.com. Bidders must go to the aforementioned website and request a download of the bid documents to automatically generate bidder contact information to the architect and then obtain a username and password to access the bidding documents. Once the architect receives the contact information electronically the bidder will be added to the bidders list. The Architect’s office may be contacted @ (610) 366-2081, for any technical difficulties.
The Architect has the sole authority to provide the ITB package to interested companies or individuals. Bidders who are working from an ITB package obtained from any other source may be working from an incomplete set of documents. The County assumes no responsibility for a bid’s errors, omissions or misinterpretations resulting from a Bidder’s use of an incomplete ITB package.
Bidders who have received the ITB package from a source other than the Architect’s website, are advised to go to the Architect’s website provided above and provide their company’s name, address, telephone number, fax number and contact name. This will ensure that the Bidder will receive all communication regarding the ITB such as Addenda and Clarifications
Bidding documents will be available starting on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Each prospective bidder will be responsible for their own expense to download and print the drawings and specifications. If alternate methods are required to obtain the documents, the prospective bidders will be charged a non-refundable fee for materials. Payment in full must be made prior to the receipt of the documents. Please include a reference to the ITB #14-33-MB SERVICES ANNEX 4TH FLOOR & MISCELLANEOUS FIT-OUT Project in the request.
The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof and/or waive any informality in any bid received when such action is in the best interest of the County.
